Cost of free food has just gone up. I was poking around the community garden this afternoon and gazed upon two signs. One sign said "unauthorized harvesting prohibited".
No stealing the food.
The other sign said that the fine for "Unauthorized Harvesting" is $1,250.
The signs are printed by the county and list a state ORS number. The fine was a hand written add on to the official sign.
